AT A GLANCE

Stronger hoops for real field use.
Kwik Hoops Nano are built from thick galvanized steel wire that holds its shape in wind, snow, and repeated handling. These aren’t light-duty garden hoops—they’re designed for market gardeners who set up and take down tunnels throughout the season.

Built to last.
The heavy wire resists bending and spring fatigue, while the galvanized finish protects against rust season after season.

One-piece steel construction.
Each hoop is formed from a single piece of heavy-gauge galvanized wire. There are no joints, connectors, or separate parts that can loosen over time. The result is a stronger hoop that installs faster and stays together in wind and field conditions.

Integrated fabric tabs.
Each hoop includes welded side tabs that help secure row cover or plastic and provide a consistent insertion depth during installation. The tabs can also be used with a simple bungee cord if you want to add extra tension to your tunnel cover.

Fast season extension.
Low tunnels are one of the simplest and most cost-effective ways to protect crops from frost, wind, pests, and harsh weather. They install quickly and can be moved as crops rotate through the garden.

Compatible with most fabrics.
Use with row cover, insect netting, frost fabric, or plastic depending on the crop and the season.

WHY GROWERS USE LOW TUNNELS

Low tunnels allow growers to:

• Start crops earlier in spring
• Extend harvest later into fall
• Protect crops from frost and wind
• Exclude insects and wildlife
• Improve crop quality and uniformity

Compared to permanent structures, low tunnels are inexpensive, portable, and adaptable to changing field conditions.

DESIGNED FOR MARKET GARDEN BEDS

Kwik Hoops Nano are sized for typical market garden beds and work well with common bed widths.

The consistent arch shape creates a smooth tunnel profile that allows fabrics to shed wind and rain while maintaining good airflow around crops.

INSTALLATION

Installation is simple:

  1. Push the legs of the hoop into the soil along the bed.

  2. Space hoops evenly along the row depending on wind conditions.

  3. Drape fabric over the hoops.

  4. Secure fabric with sandbags, soil, or clamps.

For most conditions, spacing hoops every 3–5 feet provides good support for row cover and lightweight plastics.

HOOPS AND WIND

Low tunnels perform best in semi-sheltered conditions such as gardens protected by hedgerows, buildings, or windbreaks.

In calm or sheltered environments, hoops can be spaced farther apart. In windy locations, closer spacing helps support the fabric and distribute wind loads.

For extremely windy weather, we recommend temporarily removing non-permeable covers such as plastic. No low tunnel system is designed to withstand extreme wind events.

Wind resistance depends on several factors, including:

• Hoop spacing
• Soil firmness
• Fabric type
• Fabric tension

Pulling fabric tight helps wind move over the tunnel rather than lifting it.

DEEP DIVE

Extend Your Season with Low Tunnel Hoops

Low tunnels are one of the simplest and most cost-effective ways for growers to protect crops and extend the season. Kwik Hoops Nano create a lightweight tunnel structure that supports row cover, insect netting, shade cloth, or plastic so crops can thrive even when weather conditions are less than ideal.

By creating a protective microclimate around your crops, low tunnels help farms start earlier in the spring, harvest later into the fall, and produce higher quality vegetables throughout the growing season.

Because Kwik Hoops Nano work with a wide range of agricultural fabrics, the same system can be used year-round for frost protection, insect exclusion, shade, or rain protection.

Grow When Others Can’t

Adding clear plastic film over Kwik Hoops Nano creates a simple in-field greenhouse that traps heat and protects crops from cold weather. These small protected environments warm the soil and air around your plants, helping crops establish faster and grow earlier in the season.

This allows growers to harvest crops weeks earlier than uncovered beds—often when market prices are highest.

Low tunnels also allow growers to continue harvesting later into the fall by protecting crops from frost and harsh weather.

Protect Crops from Insects and Weather

Kwik Hoops Nano provide a simple structure for supporting protective fabrics over your crops.

When paired with insect netting, low tunnels create a physical barrier that prevents pests from reaching your plants. This can significantly reduce pest pressure while allowing airflow and sunlight to reach the crop.

Row cover fabrics can also be used to:

  • Protect crops from frost
  • Reduce wind damage
  • Shield plants from heavy rain
  • Moderate temperature swings
  • Improve crop quality and uniformity

Because the hoops are compatible with many different fabrics, growers can adapt the same tunnel system to different crops and seasons.

Built for Real Field Conditions

Kwik Hoops Nano are made from high-tensile galvanized steel wire, giving them the strength to withstand repeated field use season after season.

The one-piece frame design eliminates connectors or joints, creating a strong and reliable hoop structure that installs quickly and holds its shape over time.

Integrated welded tabs help secure fabrics and provide a consistent insertion depth when installing the hoops. The tabs can also be used with a simple bungee cord if additional fabric tension is desired.

This durable construction allows the hoops to perform reliably in the challenging conditions commonly found on working farms.

Adaptable to Your Farm

Low tunnels are extremely versatile and can be used in many different ways throughout the season.

Growers commonly use Kwik Hoops Nano to:

  • Protect early spring plantings from frost
  • Grow crops under insect netting
  • Create shade structures during hot weather
  • Support plastic covers for frost protection
  • Add a second layer of protection inside larger tunnels

Because the hoops are portable and easy to install, they can be moved between beds as crops rotate through the garden.

Quick and Simple Installation

Kwik Hoops Nano are designed for fast setup so growers can install tunnels when protection is needed and remove them just as quickly.

  1. Push the legs of each hoop into the soil along the bed.
  2. Space the hoops according to your local wind conditions and the type of fabric being used.
  3. Drape the fabric over the hoops.
  4. Secure the fabric along the edges of the bed.

Most growers space hoops 3–5 feet apart, although spacing may vary depending on local wind exposure and fabric type.

Because the hoops are lightweight and portable, one person can install an entire low tunnel in just minutes.

A Flexible Tool for Season Extension

Permanent tunnels can be expensive and difficult to move. Low tunnels offer a flexible alternative that can be installed anywhere in the field.

Kwik Hoops Nano allow growers to create tunnels of almost any length—from short beds to tunnels hundreds of feet long.

This flexibility makes them one of the most useful tools for small farms and market gardens looking to extend their season and improve crop protection.
