from 325 reviewsWe’ve been purchasing these trays since 2019 and will continue to it more as we expand the best there is
It worked great on my beds that had lots of organic material in them. It made pushing the seeder much smoother than the plough shoe. It felt like the seeds got better distribution because the seeder wasn't fighting the soil as much.
The shade cloth is of really good quality. I am impressed as some shade cloth I’ve bought started ripping in my second year

If you’re growing microgreens at any scale I don’t know how you aren’t using these trays. We have been in business for over 4 years and have yet to throw away and of these trays to do cracks or breakage.
It was suggested by another grower that I give the germ net a try. We direct seed a lot of roots throughout the summer, and newly seeded beds were drying out in the hot sun. This led to suboptimal germination on some of our best selling crops. The 70% shade does great job of keeping the soil moist, and we didn't have to fear missing the new plants popping while under a silage tarp. The lack of a tarp also meant we could water right through the fabric if the soil did get too dry. Lastly, the heavy shade kept the soil temps down to further aid in better germination during the warm spells we've been having. Every direct seeded crop will go under Germination Netting from now on.
Soil Shield does an excellent job of blocking weeds, and grasses from popping up in the beds, but it doesn't end there. We primarily use it for our warm season fruiting crops like peppers & eggplant. The black color of the fabric also doesn't a great job of warming up the soil in late spring for those summer loving plants. Weed suppression, conserving water, warming the soil, and helping against disease from rain splashing up on the plants. These are just a few of the reasons to invest in landscape fabric for longer season crops
Pro tip: Lay out the fabric on a sunny day to allow the fabric to shrink a bit before you staple it down and plant into it.
We love our Sproutlet Indoor Microgreen Grower. Easy to use and it grows so fast so you always have fresh microgreens at your fingertips! Delicious with my Tofurkey sandwich or hummus and cucumber! Do yourself a favor and get one!
This process of growing microgreens in a sunny window is very nostalgic for me. We grew alfalfa sprouts on a stretched screen in the early 70s! Modern Growers has brought the process to the next level . So simple with such a variety of choices. They are an attractive and organic addition to any countertop. The process is simple and quick with almost instant results. We are adding microgreens to everything with radish being the favorite so far. Thank you, Modern Growers for bringing an organic garden into my kitchen!
I've never done any sort of growing before but I'm always looking for ways to get more greens in my diet. The instructions were really easy to follow, and the breakdown of what to expect and when to water throughout the process was especially helpful. So far I've only tried the Green Goddess blend which is delicious (I'm a big fan of arugula) and looking forward to growing Emerald Bliss next!
Two days after setting them up and covering with Insectaguard netting four raccoons decided to climb up and over the middle. Aside from the muddy footprints everything else stayed intact. I think it will work well. It's easy to open and access.
Just put this down in the last couple of weeks and loving it so far! Weeds had started to get the best of my garden and this is making it so much less effort. I have another brand of precut ground cover and the holes are a little bigger, but I primarily use very small seedlings so the smaller holes are perfect. I’m also trying to start seeds right in the ground in each hole- if that works out well I can see saving time not having to start seedlings for some of my lettuces and herbs. Generally I’m feeling really excited about this product and will probably buy more soon!
My son and I had so much fun assembling the microgreen kits. He is 10 and was able to do it while I read the instructions. Super easy. We took pictures each day as they sprouted and grew. They were full grown in under a week. We just harvested and they were delicious in a pita with hummus and cucumbers. I brought extras to my neighbor and now we starting a new batch.
Great product!
