Always happy with my purchases from Modern Grower.
We love seedling trays made of hard plastic. The flimsy plastic cell trays are terrible! The only flimsy plastic trays we use are the open flats for pea shoot production. These are relatively cheap but breakdown within 2 years of use, cause a headache and extra time when seeding. These hard plastic trays solve this problem for us! Can’t wait to invest in these to make our pea shoot production easier and more efficient!
So far I love the hoops, nice to be able to get in and do maintenance without moving the whole cover!
Love!
Love my new micro green kit! So looking forward to having fresh greens thru winter.
These speckled pea seeds germinate quickly and consistently, growing uniform dense shoots.
This was well designed and works great.
We’ve been purchasing these trays since 2019 and will continue to it more as we expand the best there is
It worked great on my beds that had lots of organic material in them. It made pushing the seeder much smoother than the plough shoe. It felt like the seeds got better distribution because the seeder wasn't fighting the soil as much.
The shade cloth is of really good quality. I am impressed as some shade cloth I’ve bought started ripping in my second year

Black Oil Sunflower Microgreen Seed
If you’re growing microgreens at any scale I don’t know how you aren’t using these trays. We have been in business for over 4 years and have yet to throw away and of these trays to do cracks or breakage.
It was suggested by another grower that I give the germ net a try. We direct seed a lot of roots throughout the summer, and newly seeded beds were drying out in the hot sun. This led to suboptimal germination on some of our best selling crops. The 70% shade does great job of keeping the soil moist, and we didn't have to fear missing the new plants popping while under a silage tarp. The lack of a tarp also meant we could water right through the fabric if the soil did get too dry. Lastly, the heavy shade kept the soil temps down to further aid in better germination during the warm spells we've been having. Every direct seeded crop will go under Germination Netting from now on.
