I like most things about the Sumi so far. The coverage is awesome, especially if you make sure to run it a couple of feet past the beginning and end of your beds. You also want to make sure the ground is as level as possible because changes in elevation can cause the streams to go in different directions than intended.

I think it works really well if you’re watering 6-8 30-inch beds at the same time. It’s a little more difficult to set up next to a tall crop if you’re trying to water the beds around it. If it’s too close to the tall crop, the plants block the water.

You can solve that by installing the risers. They’re quite a bit of work to install initially, but once they’re set up, the coverage seems really good—possibly even better than when the Sumi is sitting directly on the ground.

If I were installing it again, I’d probably get the riser clips and riser bars and install it elevated from the beginning, even if I were initially growing low-growing crops around it. Eventually, you may plant something tall enough that you’ll wish you had installed the risers already.

I’d also install the risers through landscape fabric so you don’t have to worry about weeding around a bunch of conduit. The conduit makes it difficult to use a wheel hoe or really anything besides a hand hoe around the risers.

I also am having a full-time getting the large silver union that goes from the 1 inch or whatever it is national pipe thread to the Sumi adapter to stop leaking. The threads are kind of loose and I can’t figure out how to get it to be watertight, it isn’t a huge problem, but I end up with a muddy puddle after I water at the beginning of the line.

Still a great watering system.

I have used them all. Drip-tape. wobblers, impulse sprinklers. Sumi Soaker beats them all in ease of installation and evenness of irrigation.

The sumi soaker r-wide saturated our (depressingly) bone dry beds in about 30-40 minutes and did so evenly, and without overspray into the roadway. I do wish there were cheaper options for appropriate reels to rol up the runs because we will need to move our lines frequently because of our frustrating lack of uniform bed lengths, but I am not overly worried. I considered docking a star because it did not water quite as wide an area as I wanted it to despite sufficient pressure, perhaps its a gpm/water flow problem. I did not dock it because the system remains new to me so I need more practice and research AND because it worked not only so very well, but so much BETTER than our modular wobbler lines that water unevenly (read oversaturated in required areas of overlap to have consistent width) and are such a headache to move and modify to each field and gh space. I am thrilled, heartened, and will plan on purchasing more next year.

I use the 2" paperchains to plant parsley, cilantro, dill and scallions. Typically we do 3-5 sees of each per cell. And transplant 3 rows on a bed for each crop. Our beds are 50 feet long. And one paperpot tray equals one row on the bed perfectly. _ Chef Mikey (Chef's Harvest Farm)

The sumi has completely changed my irrigation strategy and effectiveness. It’s easy, fast, and effective.

My sprinkler was not enough coverage to water my pasture, especially the corners and edges. I needed 1.5 Sumi Soakers for my pasture and the Tube Coupling part worked perfectly to connect them. My pasture is FULL of grass now!

**Update to review: Diego, the owner, contacted me the same day this review was posted asking questions about the blow out in order to monitor quality control of the product. He's providing feed back to manufacturer on any failures to improve quality. Additoinally, he has replaced the failed product with like item with some spare parts and tape should anything else happen in the future. In a time when so many businesses ignore customers, this business owner took the time to learn about the problem and perosnally fix it. Solid company, Solid practice, and exceptional business owner. Will absolutely continue to use MG and the Sumi in the future.

Ordered the mark ii and setup with the install kit and pressure reducer. With in a week of install there was a blow out on the line. Thankfully it was in the last 4 feet so I can still use most of it for now. I am concerned though as I have ordered the R-wide just days before this happened.
**Additional information, the 13spray width is extremely accurate. It will not cover 16' tunnels. Use the R-wide for with reduced pressure if you need a full 16' coverage inside a tunnel.

I should have bought these years ago.

Sumi soaker works beautifully. I am looking to add another one to add to my irrigation options.

We love the Sumi Soaker. We have very hot summers and love that we can turn on the Sumi a few times a day to easily keep things moist.

I love the system. It covers my whole garden all at once. (I have two sumi soakers on the municipal water system from my house). Easy to install and makes watering so easy and efficient. I will probably add a third when I expand the garden. Great product!

seems to be working good. had to adjust pressure a bit but i think this isi going o be much better than the rotors i was using.

These are the only stakes I've ever used that don't rust out. I love how the top is flat, so it doesn't stick up or depend the landscape fabric we use it for.

Works great! Just as advertised. Bought a second one a week after setting up the first one. The coverage is 16 feet both sides but on windy days it definitely struggles against the wind. It waters in an exact rectangle. Turn it on in the mornings for about 30 min if you know you're going to have a hot day.
